AKHA pass health insurance agency and scheme bill

Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has passed a bill for a law establishing the Akwa Ibom State Health Insurance Agency and scheme. Speaking after the bill was passed into law at yesterday’s plenary, the Speaker, Mr. Onofiok Luke said, the House was motivated into presenting the bill because of their believe that, citizens of the state, deserves access to good and affordable healthcare services. Meningitis: Akwa Ibom Govt on red alert

The Akwa Ibom Government says it has placed medical and health works on red alert to forestall any possible outbreak of Cerebro Spinal Meningitis in the state.   The State Epidemiologist, Dr Aniekeme Uwah, said this while speaking in Uyo on Thursday. Akwa Ibom partners UNICEF to tackle malnutrition

Akwa Ibom State government has expressed its readiness to partner the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to promote good nutritional regime for children. In line with this policy, N59million has been budgeted for micro-nutrient supplement under the Save One Million Lives (SOML) programme.
