Super Eagles star refuses to stay on the Chelsea bench
Nigeria defender Kenneth Omeruo (22) says he won’t stay at Chelsea if he won’t play and would rather go out on loan.
Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo has stated he would not stay back at Chelsea and sit on the bench, but would rather go out on loan for yet another season.
The 23-year old has been on the books of Chelsea since 2012, but is yet to feature for the Blues as he has spent all of that time out on loan and as he returns to the West London club for pre-season, he admits he would prefer to go out on loan again in order to play regularly than stay on at Chelsea without getting game time.
“For now, I’m a Chelsea player”, Omeruo told Scorenigeria.
“I’ve only been out on loan. Now that my loan period at Alanyaspor is over, I will be returning to Chelsea for our pre season.
“No decision has been made if I’m still going out on loan or staying at Chelsea.
“The important thing for me is that I’m still playing regularly.
“If I will have to stay at Chelsea and not be playing games, then I won’t stay, that is it for now”.
Omeruo spent the last season on loan at Turkish side Alanyaspor, and is expected to go out on loan yet again for the 2017/18 season with the possibility of signing a permanent deal away from Stamford Bridge.
