ABAK TC CHAIRMAN ORGANIZES FREE COMPUTER TRAINING
In a bid to make the people of Abak Local Government Area ICT compliant, the Transition Committee Chairman of the area, Dr. Emmanuel Udosen has opened a free computer training centre known as Barr Emmanuel Udosen Free Computer Training/Employment scheme.
The free computer training programme is powered by Top City Media & Computer Plaza, Utu Abak beside Annang Peoples School, Utu Abak.
Speaking with Journalists, Dr. Emmanuel Udosen said the establishment of the free computer training was to complement the effort of the Wife of the State Governor, Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel who has through her pet-project, the Family Empowerment and Youth Re-orientation Programme (FEYReP) touched the lives of many people positively.
The Transition Committee Chairman explained that since the world today is a global village, the establishment of the centre was to make the people of Abak and its environs computer literate.
He assured that the Transition Committee under his leadership will continue to emulate what Governor Udom Emmanuel is doing in the state by attracting development and dividends of democracy to the people of Abak.
Dr. Udosen called on parents and the entire people of the area to take advantage of the free computer training centre to send their children so as to learn and become computer literate.
The Transition Committee Chairman also harped on the need for the people of the area to take advantage of the government free and compulsory education to send their children to school to enable them become useful and responsible citizens in future.
Speaking after the inauguration of the centre, the Executive Director, Top City Media & Computer Plaza, Mr. Emmanuel Jackson commended the Transition Committee Chairman for sponsoring the free training.
He described Dr. Udosen as education-friendly Chairman who has the interest of his people at heart.
Mr. Jackson listed some of the free courses to include; Word Processing, Spread Sheet Preparation, Powerpoint Presentation, Media Burning and Media Converting.
Others according to the Director include; Web Browsing, Live DJ Entertainment, Creative Graphics, Digital Video Coverage, Video Editing among others.
Mr. Jackson called on interested indigenes of the area to obtain the free form in their office.
It would be recalled that the Transition Committee Chairman had sponsored free JAMB Classes for students of the area and also opened ICT Centre in the Local Government Council Secretariat for students, and the entire people of the area to access their results, write their projects, seminar and seek for employment opportunities and job vacancies globally as well as other internet related issues.
The initiative is was gathered has received wide commendations from within and outside Abak Local Government Area.
