“My charisma & confidence stood me out from other contestants” – A’Ibom born Miss Unique Nigeria

 

Aniebiet Umanah is the 2nd winner of Miss Unique Nigeria…She’s an indigene of Afaha Offiong in Nsit ibom LGA, Akwa ibom state. The Beauty Queen popularly known as Queen Anny is a combination of beauty, intelligence and brains. She has won many other crowns before now which include; Most beautiful Queen in Nigeria (Tourism) 2016/2017, Most beautiful face in Nigeria tourism 2017/ 2018.

 

The beautiful Queen who went into the competition with over 25 ladies and came out the winner is a graduate of computer science, University of Uyo. She loves Travelling, reading, coaching young talents. She’s very compassionate, friendly and her main focus is giving back to the society.

 

In this interview with NEWS LINK SHOWBIZ, she talks about her experience as a beauty queen, what stood her out during the pageant and what she will pursue as a pet project.

You emerged Miss Unique Nigeria in 2018…what has been the experience like?

Wow….The experience has been amazing….I mean, i feel super excited each day and I’m grateful to God I got the crown

What motivated you to contest?

The motivation came from the fact that i needed a platform to keep reaching out to my society….become a voice to the voiceless

You must have a pet project…tell us about it

Yea sure…My pet project IS tagged “hope for rural kids “. I choose to focus on the kids because that’s where my passion lies. I love children a whole lot and as a beauty queen I want to put in all my best to make sure there is a smile on the faces of the kids in Nigeria.

Did you feel you stood the chance of winning after you saw the other counterparts?

Yes I did, why because I’ve always believed in myself and i know that I’m the best wherever I find myself so with that mindset, i can achieve anything I want with God by my side.

What was the feeling when your name was announced as the winner, how did you react?

(Laughs)…..The competition was really a competition indeed because after the Top 11 were announced the winner was to be selected from the 11 girls so one could really predict who the winner would be but like i have always said and believe, that I’m the best always. I believed that i came to win and i won. When my name was announced, i was super excited that i made it again. I didn’t even know when i started crying. In all; God be praised.

What do you think stood you out from the other contestants?

My charisma, confidence, costumes and above all, my smile.

How have you been coping with the task of being the queen, knowing what is expected of you?

I’m coping very fine but i must say, it’s not easy…Like the saying goes; “Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown” but with God, all will be fine.

As a beauty queen, can you tell us about your beauty routine?

I use all the beauty products that keeps my skin glowing as specified by my cosmetologist in addition to my daily routine.

Let’s talk fashion…

As a beauty Queen, what’s your fashion-must-have?

I must say, i love everything…From hairs, clothes, shoes, glasses, i mean everything fashionable.

What’s your fashion “sin” ?…that’s something you always indulge in uncontrollably

Okay… I love good shoes..Ican spend a fortune for them.

Any word of advice for girls aspiring to be a beauty queen like you?

Being a beauty queen isn’t just about your crown and title. There are so many things that you need to do and so many responsibilities as well. So while aspiring to be a beauty queen have that in mind too. Second, be focused, determined, work hard, believe in yourself and above all, trust in God.
