Uyo Fed Const 2019: Pressure mounts on Ime Uwah to join race

By Udeme Inyang

There’s massive pressure on frontline Uyo born entrepreneur Ime Uwah to aspire for the Uyo Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives come 2019, Newslinkng.com can authoritatively report.

The House of Representative seat is currently occupied by under-fire Hon Michael Enyong. The Federal Assemblyman popularly referred to as Baba Ntan has been criticized lately by his kinsmen for his lackluster representation since getting elected in 2015.

According to impeccable information made available to Newslinkng.com, stakeholders from Uyo, Uruan, ibesikpo Asutan and Nsit Atai Local Government Areas have resolved to back Uwah for the position despite the second term aspirations of the incumbent member. Newslinkng.com was informed that the decision to compel Uwah to join the race is not unconnected to the poor representation of Baba Ntan. According to the stakeholders who spoke to Newslinkng.com, the decision to go with Ime Uwah was based on his acceptability in the federal constituency and his capacity to impact meaningfully to the welfare of his kinsmen. They insisted these were some of the factors that tilted the odds in his favour when the choice on who to support was raised.

However, Newslinkng.com’s investigations reveal that Ime Uwah who is also an aide to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Brand Marketing has been mulling over the opportunity offered by stakeholders to join the race.

However, a close family source who spoke to our reporter said there was no clue whatsoever from Uwah to guess if he would be interested in the offer or not.

“I can confirm to you there’s pressure on Ime from various quarters to throw his hat into the ring concerning the Uyo Federal Constituency seat. What I don’t know is if Ime will heed to those calls.

“The funny thing is that he betrays no body language over the matter so nobody really knows what’s on his mind but time will tell”, the source told Newslinkng.com.
