Eket-Ibeno Road: Ekid Peoples Union calls for calm …confident on AKHA adhoc committee

Ekid Elders under the aegis o‎f Ekid Peoples Union, the apex socio-political group in Ekid have condemned the recent destruction of the bill board erected by Exxon-Mobil which stated it’s contribution towards the construction of the Eket-Ibeno Road.

In a press release signed by the National President of the Ekid Peoples Union, Rev.Prof.Asindi Asindi said the fund which Exxon-Mobil had stated was in the sum of N8billion was the palliative from the oil spillage allegedly set for the area and that the destruction of the bill board by hoodlums was unwarranted as the people of the area were peace loving people.

He stated that the Union would not condone any acts that will not bring peace to the area and emphasized that there was a very cordial working relationship between Exxon-Mobil and the Ekid Peoples Union.

Prof.Asindi called for calm within the area as he expressed confidence that the committee set up by the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly to address the issue will investigate the matter and come out with recommendations that will enhance unity and development in the area while appealing that no one should be used in causing any disaffection within the area anymore.
