Before we blame Governor Udom Emmanuel

I remember when Okada was banned in Uyo, while our people were busy criticizing government for being so cruel and insensitive, Igbo people came from Onitsha, Aba, Enugu to ride Keke in Uyo and make money…

While we are still talking about “made in China Sleeves” and arguing about the ownership and sustainability of AKEES pencil and toothpick factory… An actress from Asaba called to ask how she can become a Major distributor of the pencil in Asaba…

While we are still building propaganda around the syringe factory, asking when Udom will complete the project, I am told about seven-teen people have written government to declare their interest for the distribution of the YET to be produced syringe, and the sad news is that there is no one Akwa Ibom person among these seven-teen people. Tomorrow we will blame government for bringing outsiders to occupy sensitive positions in OUR factory.

My point
If you are still seeing the DAKKADA INITIATIVE as a political movement, you are so wrong. DAKKADA is a clarion for mental awakening for Akwa ibomites. We need to change our mindsets ,our reasoning, our thought process ,else we will always stay idle, complain, blame people and government for our misfortunes, and other tribes will continue to identify opportunities in our dear state and seize them..
