ASSEMBLYMAN RECEIVES KUDOS FOR INSTITUTING SECONDARY SCHOOLS QUIZ COMPETITION

 

The Member representing Abak State Constituency in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Friday Iwok has continued to receive commendations for instituting the All Abak Secondary Schools Quiz Competition.

 In his reaction, the Supervisor for Education, Youth and Sports in Abak Local Government Council, Comrade Bernard Utang, described the institution of the Quiz Competition as a step in the right direction for the educational development and building of human capacity of the people of Abak.

 Comrade Utang expressed gratitude to Elder Friday Iwok for his benevolence and for always coming to the plight of his people.

 The Supervisor noted that the quiz competition will boost student’s moral in their educational pursuit and also banish stage fright among the students in particular and youths of Abak in general. “It will enhance self-realization and actualization of Abak people in politics which is all about representation and strong presentation of points and issues which will eventually bring development to our community. So, this gesture is highly appreciated by the entire people of Abak”, the Supervisor stated.

 

Comrade Utang lauded  the two-term Lawmaker for giving the people of Abak effective and qualitative representation.

 

He prayed God to continue to give Elder Friday Iwok more wisdom and enablement to continue to render selfless services to his people.

 

On the recent conferment of the title of “Ujo Abak” on the Lawmaker by Conference of Village Heads, Abak Chapter, the Supervisor described it as meritorious and well-deserved, considering his performance in the last Assembly which prompted his re-election into the 6th Assembly.

 

Comrade Utang who is the immediate past Chairman of the Peoples Democracy Party (PDP) Otoro Ward One, pointed out that his strong presentation and advocacy has brought smiles on the faces of Abak people.

 

The Supervisor listed some of the presentations by the Assembly-man to include; the flood disaster along Ikot Ekpene Road, Abak, the Ukpom Bridge, St. Mary’s Science College, Ediene Abak, Hospital Road, Abak among others.

 

He thanked the leadership of Conference of Village Heads, Abak Chapter for honouring Elder Iwok with the title, describing him as the real voice of Abak (Ujo Abak).

 

He congratulated the two-term Lawmaker on his first two years in office and appealed to him to continue to hold on to God as he has been doing over the years and should also be very supportive to Governor Udom Emmanuel.
