2019 ELECTIONS: IKOT EKPENE SENATORIAL DISTRICT YOUTHS ADOPT GOV EMMANUEL, AKPABIO …Promise to bankroll their nomination forms

The last has not been heard of Governor Udom Emmanuel’s rising political acceptance, as the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District Youth Assembly on Sunday declared their resolve to sustain the agreement of supporting Eket Senatorial District complete their two tenures at the Hilltop mansion, in line with the laid down commitment to justice and equity.

The meeting, which held at the Ikot Ekpene Local Government council hall, played host to a myriad of youth stakeholders and opinion leaders across divides from the area, taking to consideration the district’s pivotal role in the political evolution of the state.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the youths unanimously declared support for the second term bid of  Governor Udom Emmanuel and Senator Godswill Akpabio in 2019, promising to mobilize funds among members to procure nomination forms for the duo in appreciation of their contribution to the political stability and socioeconomic development of the state.

The communiqué also commended the state chief executive for appointing indigenes of the district into enviable positions in government, lauding the industrialization policy of government designed to empower the youths as well as the numerous interventions of government in areas of critical infrastructure across the state.

On the effective representation the district have enjoyed under the Senate Minority Leader, Chief Godswill Akpabio, the group heralded his legislative prowess and the ability to attract several projects to the area within his short stay in office, thanking him for not seeing the Red chambers as a retirement paradise, but a platform to propagate better welfare for his people.

Congratulating Governor Emmanuel and Senator Akpabio for achievements so far recorded in two years, the Chairman Board of Trustees of the organization, Barr. Ukpong Akpabio lauded the excellent financial management acumen of the State Chief Executive and patriotism of the Senate Minority Leader, which has brought the state national acclaim.

Barr. Akpabio assured youths of the district that supporting the governor was the surest way to preserving the established harmonious political atmosphere in the state, advising them not to allow people mislead them into supporting aspirations that would do the state no good.

On Senator Akpabio’s representation, the Board of Trustee helmsman noted that the district has never had it so good in the red chambers, describing his performance in the senate as satisfactory as it has set an agenda for a robust legislative engagement for others to emulate.

Declaring the event open, the Chairman of the session and Special Assistant to the Governor on Projects Barr. Igwat Umoren noted that Governor Emmanuel and Senator Akpabio has done well keeping the state in the epicenter of Nigeria’s economic attainment and national political reckoning, saying there was need to support them beyond 2019.

On his part, the President of the group, Mr. Ubokobong Umoh appreciated the youths for the massive attendance at the meeting, stating their confidence in the leadership of the group has emboldened them to do more in advancing the sojourn to a gainful future through supports for Governor Emmanuel and Senator Akpabio.

Speaking, the Chief Whip of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Hon. Emmanuel Bassey; Transition Committee Chairmen for Abak, Ikot Ekpene and Obot Akara; political appointees of government, stakeholders including Uduot Jack, Ese Umoh, Ndianabasi Udom, leadership of Youth Caucus, Youth Council and Village Youth Presidents, female youths and students expressed their support for the leadership of the duo.

A vote to support the return of Governor Udom Emmanuel and Senator Godswill Akpabio in 2019 received a thunderous affirmation from delegates, who promised to mobilize, vote and secure their mandates in 2019.
