Ayang gives out daughter in marriage …First Lady counsels couple By Osondu Ahirika

The Families of the Political Leader of Esit Eket Local Government Area, Elder Benjamin Udobia and former member Eket State Constituency,Hon. Ayang Ayang, today(Thursday) celebrated as their Children Mr. Akanimo Udobia and Engr. Anne Ayang were traditionally joined together as Husband and wife, in what will pass as the biggest traditional marriage of the year in the oil rich city of Eket.

The traditional marriage which attracted the who is who in Akwa Ibom state and beyond also had in attendance the wife of Akwa Ibom State governor and First Lady, Her Excellency, Mrs Martha Udom Emmanuel as a Special Guest of Honour, Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Barr. Onofiok Luke, principal officers amd members of the state legislature, members of the state Executive Council, Local Government chairman, political party chieftains and current and past political office holders.

The first lady was ushered into the venue of the wedding held at the field of a Primary School in the heart of Eket amidst standing ovation and loud applause from various women and youth groups who turned out in their numbers to grace the occasion.

The governors wife while felicitating the couple advised them to learn to solve their marital problems

themselves without involving third party, including their parents as the challenges faced in their times are definitely different compared

to today’s challenges. She prayed for the success of the marriage.

Earlier at the residence of the father of the bride, Commissioner for Works Ephraim Inyangeyen  urged the couple to remain faithful to each other as they make the vows of marriage noting that, marriage is permanent, so that they can attract the blessings of God.

While charging the couple to make Godly love the foundation of their marriage, Inyangeyen urged the couple to always learn to be patient, forbear, tolerate and forgive each other no matter what, warning that, without these virtues, the couple will not enjoy bliss in their marriage. He however expressed confidence that, the pedigree of the homes and upbringing of the couple respectively, will manifestly help them build a prosperous and happy home.
