Akwa Ibom PDP Publicity Secretary Fetes, Empowers Schools Teachers, WAEC, JAMB Students
In a bid to motivate and appreciate efforts of teachers in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area, in grooming and instilling knowledge in students, PDP Publicity Secretary, Akwa Ibom State; Comrade Ini Ememobong, has feted and empowered conference of Heads of Public Schools and Teachers in the area.
Apart from the over sixty eight (68) Schools heads who went home smilling with gargantuan amounts and 20 bags of rice courtesy of the State’s PDP Publicity secretary, others who benefitted from the Comrade Ememobong’s milk of kindness were facilitators of WAEC and JAMB preparatory classes and over one hundred (100) students in the area.
The soul-touching event which took place, Sunday at the hometown of the PDP Publicity Secretary in Use Ndon, Ibiono Ibom LGA, attracted the creme-de-la-creme of Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency and party faithful in the State.
They include; the member representing Ibiono Ibom State Constituency in the State House of Assembly; Rt Hon (Barr) Ime Okon, Commissioner for Housing and Special Duties; Mr Akan Okon and his counterpart in Environment and Mineral Resources; Dr Iniobong Essien.
Others were; the Transition Chairman of Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area; Pastor Samuel Eka, State’s Secretary of PDP; Mr Harrison Ekpo, Commissioner, Civil Service Commission; Hon Bassey Eyibio and Commissioner, State’s Technical Board; Hon George Henshaw.
The long list of dignitaries also included: State Chairman of Nigeria Union of Jourmalists (NUJ); Elder Patrick Albert, Special Assistant (S.A) to the Governor on Electoral Matters; Barr Mfon Udeme, S.A. to the Governor on Grassroots Mobilisation; Hon Otobong Kokoette, S.A. on Projects Monitoring; Kate Assian, who mobilized members of PDP Young Women Network, to the event.
Addressing the mammoth crowd at his abode; the donor and Publicity Secretary of PDP in the State; Comrade Ini Ememobong, hinted that the event which has become a yearly ‘ritual’, was aimed at reiterating the relevance of teachers in the area.
Comrade Ememobong, who over the years has successfully embarked on several public based programs to promote economic empowerment of the less privileged and address germane national issues that conflict with development, said, the gesture was to encourage teachers in their continued effort at imparting knowledge with diligence.
The Publicity Secretary who eulogized the State’s government free and compulsory education programme said, it gives every child of school age resident in Akwa Ibom, regardless of state of origin, access to qualitative education from primary to senior secondary school level.
