ABAK PDP YOUTH LEADERS FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP: FINAL HOLDS SUNDAY
The final of the maiden edition of Abak PDP Youth Leaders Football Championship will take place on Sunday, 12th February, 2017 at the Church of Jesus Christ Comprehensive Secondary School, Atai Otoro in Abak Local government Area by 3pm.
The final match which will be between Abak Urban Ward 4 and Afaha Obong Ward 1 will be preceded by the third place match between Midim Ward 1 and Otoro Ward 2 scheduled for 1pm.
A statement jointly signed by the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Abak Chapter, Dr. Mike Udoh, Secretary, Hon. Emmanuel Eno Jackson and Chapter Youth Leader, Comrade Peter Eyo-Essien indicates that the State Deputy Governor, Mr. Moses Ekpo will perform the kick-off of the final match as the Special Guest of Honour.
According to the statement, the State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Obong Paul Ekpo, Member Representing Abak State Constituency in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Elder Friday Iwork, Special Adviser, Rural Development and Cooperative, Mrs. Ekemini Umoh, Transition Committee Chairman for Abak, Dr. Emmanuel Udosen, Director General Akwa Ibom Broadcasting Corporation (AKBC) Pastor Anietie Ukpe, PDP Woman Leader for Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, Mrs. Useneno Tom are expected as the Guests of Honour.
Also invited to witness the grand finale/closing ceremony as Guests are; former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr. Patrick Udomfang, immediate past Commissioner for Information and Communications, Elder Aniekan Umanah, Provost Federal School of Medical laboratory Science, Jos, Dr. Nkereuwem Etukudoh, Permanent Secretaries, Pastor Praise Okon and Dr. (Mrs) Valerie Obot, SA and PA’s to the Governor from Abak extraction.
The statement has therefore invited Members of the Transition Committee, Party Chieftains, Transitional Rulers, senior citizens of Abak, sports lovers and the general public to the event.
The statement hinted that at the end of the final match the winners will smile home with trophy, medals and cash prizes.
It would be recalled that all the 11 wards in Abak Local Government Area participated in the championship.
